in light of all the studying I've been doing.
*InstaGram*

I enjoy reading, really I do...but haven't picked up a book for sheer pleasure since...yeah I can't remember. College kind of puts a damper on free time to read for "fun". All the reading I do is for class...BUT I'm about to have a month off before I go work for the summer at Crucis (see first post here) so I'll have some time to read again...so:
to my 7 trusty followers-any good suggestions??

...and counting.

Well it's official: I'm finally done with Christian Heritage for the semester ever! Phew! Had that final this morning at 9 am, and 120 multiple-choice, true/false, and matching questions later I am feeling pretty satisfied about how it went. What a huge weight off of my shoulders. That class was definitely my most stressful  for the semester and after it all (despite a few grey hairs, haha just kidding!!!) I can satisfyingly say that I have learned A WHOLE LOT about my faith and where it came from and how it formed to what it is today! So, thanks Dr. Moseman for an enriching, enlightening, and motivating semester!

Wanna sneek peek into my all-day study session yesterday in preparation for that final? [well, it was more like a 3 week long process of studying but here are some pics from yesterday ;)]

This is about half of the actual stack of notecards with all the information I had to know
...sorry trees. Waaaaaaaayy too many notecards for anyone's good, if you ask me :-/
One LARGE bag of animal crackers to sustain me...and hoping for an A!
a little humor goes a LONG
way...especially in a never-
ending study session. hehe

<---front. back. --->

After that final finished, I had the middle of the day to rest and collect my thoughts and energy for my Voice Jury at 2! For all you non-vocal majors out there: Juries are a music major's final for their area of concentration. I had to have 6 songs ready and would sing 2. To make it even a little more nerve-racking than normal, this jury was also a Level, which is basically a barrier to cross to move up to the next level of vocal lessons and ALL the voice faculty listens and judges you singing rather than just 2 or 3 like a normal jury. Soooooo **drum roll** I began with a piece that was Italian, Il fervido desiderio, by Vincenzo Bellini, and then they picked my english song **sigh of suprised relief**, The Summer Wind by Amy Beach (sorry I couldn't find a recording of this on YouTube for your enjoyment, but there is however a lovely version on iTunes with Patrick Mason singing if you care to check it out), and both went exremely well!!! :D Oh and I got to wear my new dress that I bought the other weekend with maw-meh (did I mention it is coral colored??!). I'll try to add a pic later :)

Countdown to Summer:
  1. finish my Intro to Music Ed paper
  2. Piano IV Jury tomorrow morning
  3. Musicianship Hearing Final tomorrow
  4. French Diction Final tomorrow
  5. Theory Final on Saturday Morning
  6. say my goodbyes :(
  7. and...then pack up my dorm and GO HOME!!
Can't belive I'm almost to the end! Deep breath!
Blessings and SIC 'EM,
Amy

coffee good. morning bad.

Well, I've had a pretty decent morning considering that it's a Saturday and I got out of bed before 9 am. I love sleeping in, especially on Saturdays when I have nothing planned. I love not setting an alarm and just waking up when I wake up. no rush. It's a guilty pleasure for sure, but that wasn't the case this morning. I had a make-up voice lesson at 11 with Dr. J and needed to finish memorizing my last piece for juries and warm-up the trusty chords before I went and sang for him! Success: last piece memorized, had one bangin' last voice lesson of the semester, went out to lunch with the Solange ...and I know as you can see, I'm once again sittin' in CG studying away! Christian Heritage is my first final on Wednesday morning at 9am! woop! sic 'em! So here's to a productive Saturday!

Later bloggies :)

Your Highness...

So how many of you crazy people got up at the CRACK OF DAWN to watch the Royal Wedding?? anyone? anyone? Come on and admit it! Well I hope you enjoyed watching, as I snoozed away in my nice comfy dorm room bed before my 9 o'clock class this morning! Yep, TiVo is my friend. Any other geniuses think of that? hehe I'm not gonna lie, I do wanna see it, but not at 5 in the morning! Can you tell I'm not a morning person? :-P

So I've seen some pretty crazy memorabilia out there, but this one takes the cake! and not just a slice, THE WHOLE CAKE!

Forget magnets! Buy a whole dang fridge with their picture on it...really...?

Brown in a Coffee Shop

So I'm not a photographer, by any means, but it's definitely something that I enjoy doing. I always see scenes during my day and wish I could capture them, but sometimes my little EasyShare Kodak doesn't do quite the job I want it to. I always wish I have a better camera than the one I have now, and have been meaning to save up for one forever... maybe that'll be something I'll do this summer! For now, here's a pic I snapped today during a study session:

this one happened to be captured on my iPhone, and it's edited by my new obsession of an app, Instagram.
I just loved all the brown. so *snap*

shop 'til ya drop!

Well, I don't think there is any better phrase to describe the day mom and I have had! PHEW! She pulled up to the curb of my dorm at 1 and we haven't stopped since! We went to the neighborhood Walmart and bought all the yummy ingredients for the casserole. After that we went and dropped off everything and put the milk and eggs and such in the refridge! Then it was time for lunch:

mom's salad

aren't we so cute with
our matching olive green tops?!!
(a total accident btw)

my salad, with yummy spiced apples :)

Mom wanted to go to the mall, so that's just what we did....hehe and what was going to be a quick run in, turned into a good 4 hour spree of shoppin' Hey no complaints! If anyone can shop it's me and my mom! We are bargain hunters to the max! I found 2 new dresses, a good 8 new tops (I love XXI), and 2 new performance worthy heels :) Clearance is my friend! weeeeeeeee
Now, we're off to dinner....and OH YEAH that casserole. Still need to make that ;)
